Happy Dirt's Mission
Happy Dirt Veggie Patch and its farmer, Matt Suhr, took root in Medford, Oregon, in 2008, with a mission to bring his healthy, organic veggies and sprouts to Ashland area families.
How It's Done
Farmer Matt is joined seasonally by seasonal workers, local volunteers, dear friends, and traveling WWOOFers (Willing Workers on Organic Farms), who help get Happy Dirt veggies to market.
Our History
Happy Dirt Veggie Patch is a migrant farm, growing veggies in Phoenix, Arizona, from 1992- 2008, before moving to the Ashland/Medford Area in 2008, and to Myrtle Point in 2023.

We're starting over from the ground up, working now on infrastructure (March 2023) and have not yet planted crops for 2023. We'll keep ya posted here and on our Facebook page.
About Farmer Matt
Farmer Matt has had his hands in the soil for more than 40 years. He managed the community gardens at Gentle Strength Natural Foods Cooperative in Tempe, Arizona, from 1989-1992. In 1992, he founded Happy Dirt Veggie Patch in Phoenix, Arizona, before relocating to Medford, Oregon in 2008, and Myrtle Point in 2023.
